I am Cindy Brister, I am the Interim Police Chief for the Merryville Police Department. I started with the MPD in November 2022 as a patrol officer. I have 6 years of law enforcement experience. I finished Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy in 2020 and become POST certified. I obtained my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice in 2017. I am married to James Brister and have 2 children, Shelbie and Hunter. We started our roots in Merryville in 2006 and have enjoyed being part of this town since then. It is an honor to be able to serve the great people of Merryville and look forward to the days ahead. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work for this town! Officer Jarad Doyle started with the department in January 2023. Officer Doyle has 4 years of law enforcement background and Louisiana POST certified since 2020. He was raised in Merryville and has children who attend Merryville School. Officer Doyle is very knowledgeable and has been a great asset to the department. |
Ms. Deborah "Debi" Wray, has been with the department since 2015 as the traffic clerk. She is tasked with traffic citation, court dates, documents from other agencies in traffic and non-traffic matters, accurately record payment on fines, perform highly responsible and confidential secretarial duties for the police chief and police management. Ms. Debi states she loves working with people and law enforcement to help merryville be the best it can be.
