I am Cindy Brister, I am the Interim Police Chief for the Merryville Police Department. I started with the MPD in November 2022 as a patrol officer. I have 6 years of law enforcement experience. I finished Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy in 2020 and become POST certified. I obtained my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice in 2017. I am married to James Brister and have 2 children, Shelbie and Hunter. We started our roots in Merryville in 2006 and have enjoyed being part of this town since then. It is an honor to be able to serve the great people of Merryville and look forward to the days ahead. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work for this town! Any questions or concerns please don't hesitate on reaching out, I would be more then happy to assist in any way.
